Practices to be held at Wissahickon High School Wrestling Room

521 Houston Rd, Ambler, PA 19002 - Dager road entrance closest to student parking lot

Practices begin Monday, November 13th

Mondays 6-730 pm (Gold and Blue)

Wednesday 6-730 pm (Blue ONLY)

Thursday 6-730 pm (Gold and Blue)

**Mandatory Parents Meeting 6-730, Thursday November 16th in Wissahickon High School lower Cafeteria

Athletes are divided into two different practice groups based on experience and age. Your wrestler will be assigned practice group and times in the team scheduling app. 

• Gold Practice (Beginner)- This practice group is for new wrestlers (first year) & Wrestlers with 1-2 year of experience and grades K-4. The intention of this group is to learn the basics of the sport; rules, scoring, fundamental moves, sportsmanship, entry level strength & flexibility training. Practice will consist of warm up & stretching, instruction & drills, live wrestling, and games. There will be quick transitions to keep engagement.  

•  Blue Practice (Advanced) - This practice group is for more experienced wrestlers. Wrestlers with 2+ years of experience and are in grades 2-8.  Learn advanced moves while reinforcing the fundamentals, advanced strength & flexibility training, and drills. Emphasis on live wrestling. There will be increased competition, and of course Games! 

**Wresters may be moved to a different practice group based on the coaching team's recommendations. These practice groups are designed to give our youth wresters the opportunity to practice with similar skilled and experienced teammates.
