Practices to be held at Wissahickon High School Wrestling Room

521 Houston Rd, Ambler, PA 19002 - Dager Road entrance closest to student parking lot

Practices begin Monday, November 11th

White

Monday and Thursday - 5:30pm-6:30pm - HS Wrestling room

Blue

Monday and Thursday - 6:30pm-7:45pm - Lower Cafeteria

Gold

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday - 6:30pm-8:00pm - HS Wrestling room

Practice is held at Wissahickon High School wrestling room or lower cafeteria. Athletes are divided into three different practice groups based on experience and age. Your wrestler will be assigned practice group and times in the team scheduling app. 

• White Practice (Beginner)- This practice group is for new wrestlers (zero experience)  and/or wrestlers in kindergarten and first grade. The intention of this group is to learn the basics of the sport; rules, scoring, fundamental moves, sportsmanship, entry level strength & flexibility training. Practice will consist of warm up & stretching, instruction & drills, live wrestling, and games. There will be quick transitions to keep engagement.  

• Blue Practice (Intermediate)- This practice group is for wrestlers with 1 to 3 years of experience and in second grade or above. The intention of this group is to continue to learn the basics of the sport; rules, scoring, fundamental moves, sportsmanship, entry level strength & flexibility training. Practice will consist of warm up & stretching, instruction & drills, live wrestling, and games. There will be quick transitions to keep engagement.  

•  Gold Practice (Advanced) - This practice group is for more experienced wrestlers. Wrestlers with 4+ years of experience, in 5th grade or above and/or designated by coaches.  Learn advanced moves while reinforcing the fundamentals, advanced strength & flexibility training, and drills. Emphasis on live wrestling. There will be increased competition, and of course Games! 

**Wresters may be moved to a different practice group based on the coaching team's recommendations. These practice groups are designed to give our youth wresters the opportunity to practice with similar skilled and experienced teammates.
